EMRISE CORPORATION ROTARY SWITCHES QUALIFIED FOR INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION

Company’s Low-Profile Switches Installed in Mission-Critical Equipment for Space Station Life Support System

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.—August 14, 2008—EMRISE CORPORATION (NYSE Arca: ERI), a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, today announced that its Very Low Profile Rotary (VLP®) switches have been qualified for space applications and installed in new equipment used to rehydrate crew member food and provide potable water for the International Space Station’s regenerative life-support system.

According to EMRISE President and Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva, qualification for space applications is the highest certification for electronic devices, and this qualification and application is expected to further support and facilitate growth of the Company’s digital and rotary switch division, Digitran, in new patented low-profile rotary switches for space-related and other high-reliability military and commercial aerospace applications.

Oliva stated, “Our VLP® Rotary Switches were selected for this mission-critical space application because of their very light weight, small size and very high reliability.

“We are especially proud to be a supplier for the International Space Station’s life support system, and being part of our nation’s space program marks a significant milestone for Digitran,” Oliva added. “Moreover, from a future business perspective, we feel this space qualification validates the consistent high quality and performance of Digitran switches and indicates a bright future for its continued growth in the military and commercial aerospace markets.”

The life support system has been delivered to the Kennedy Space Flight Center and will be transported to the space station on the Space Shuttle currently scheduled for launch on November 10, 2008. The shuttle will carry the equipment in a multi-purpose logistics module, a large reusable cargo module used to transport equipment and supplies to and from the International Space Station as it orbits the earth.
